One of the tourist location in Pontianak which are
worthy of your holiday is made the tourist of Museum Negeri Pontianak, West
Kalimantan Province. The Museum was built in 1975, began operation on October 4th, 1983 and is often
visited by the tourists. Museum west Kalimantan is the fifth of the best museum
in Indonesia. There are facilities which are museum spaces of Pontianak
permanent exhibition, contemporary space, administration, storage, library,
mosque, auditorium and cafe.
At front of the museum
there are relief that describe event of independence struggle from Malay and
Dayak ethnics, in addition there are
statue and a cannon. After that, in main building of museum there are some
collections of relic such as cannon, songket weaving, traditional
music of Malay, traditional music of Dayak, equipment of death , VOC
sword, etc. Meanwhile, in behind of the museum there are some collections of
relic such as alat
press karet, miniatur dango, miniatur langkau, miniatur pancar, miniatur rumah lanting, miniatur sandung and langun, miniatur tungku
pembakaran keramik, replika batu bertulis, etc. In other hand there are flowers garden
designed to attract, there is a small pond along the garden and decorated with
flower.
